Frame Productions Receives Certification as a Women's Business Enterprise

Frame Productions, Inc., an award-winning content development and video production company, has received national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise by the Women's Business Enterprise Council - West, a regional certifying partner of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

WBENC's national standard of certification implemented by the Women's Business Enterprise Council - West is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.

"We have built our business on the principle of commitment to our clients, crews, talent and our work," said Meredith Cruse, president of Frame Productions. "We are grateful to the Women's Business Enterprise Council - West and the WBENC, and we are happy to be a part of the great community of women-owned businesses in the United States."

Holding Our Breath

I've never been much of a New Year's party-meister, but this year I just can't wait for that ball to drop on 2010.

I have this sense right now that every business is just holding its collective breath waiting for Wreck of '09 to end. A new budget cycle is about to begin, but my crystal ball is all fogged over and visibility doesn't extend as far as the new year. I don't know what to expect.

There are some positive signs: the auto sector is improving, manufacturing is growing and inventories are shrinking. On the other hand, early indications are that bargain-hunting shoppers are playing Scrooge for the holidays and the private sector is still axing employees. Worse, the construction industry, which has lost about 1.6 million jobs since the start of the Great Recession, stands on the precipice of another downturn as stimulus-funded projects are already drying up.

This recovery isn't going to be led by consumers, and government is running out of energy to lead. It's going to have to come from business. And I think most other business leaders, like us, are just done with the recession. We're ready to move on. We know that our competitors aren't standing still, or won't for much longer. So we have to act.

And soon, along comes January. A new year, new budgets, and a new feeling of relief at having made it through the ugliness. The world hasn't ended, and America is still, fundamentally, the strongest economy on the planet.

At midnight on 01/01/10, I'll be ready to exhale.
